Motorola CP200 - What is the outdoor range?

Hi there,

I am looking at buying some Motorola CP200 two way radios to use for communications at outdoor cross country running races I organize.

We can’t seem to find anywhere what the outdoor range is (I know there are variables that effect this) but what is the approx range these 4Watt UHF radios, in a wooded area.

Also, if you know, we also have some old Motorola Spirit MU21CV 2Watt radios, how would these two different radios compare?
