    My Home Office Inspiration

When my boyfriend and I were looking for our first apartment together, I wanted a few major things. The first was a big bathtub and the second was a spare bedroom for an office/guestroom. I knew I’d spend a lot of time working on this blog and running my shop, so I would need the dedicated space to work. I also knew that we have a lot of family scattered Houston and having lots of out of town friends. That meant that we would have more guests staying over than we ever did in our separate apartments.

Having a dedicated space to work makes working from home feel a little more official, and makes it harder for me to slack off and just turn on the tv.

After a lot of apartment hunting, he found a great space for us! We have everything we both wanted. We’re in the perfect neighborhood for us and our dogs, we have my spacious bathtub and a spare bedroom/office! I was so excited when we signed off on the place.

Now, I’m ashamed to admit it, but after almost a year of living here, we just cleaned the moving boxes out of that room. Shameful, I know. But now that I’ve finally gotten around to cleaning it up, I’m ready to decorate. I’ve spent a little time on Pinterest collecting inspiration, and I’ll share a little bit of it with you. Click on the photos to see where they’re from.

Since my office space doubles as a guestroom it has to be inviting and functional. These baskets have a lot of room for storage for shipping supplies and extra blankets.

A stand alone garment rack is a must have for Feather + Arrow merchandise. The spare bedroom closet just doesn’t have the space.

I’m sticking to my favorite black and white color scheme, but I love this kantha quilt for a little extra color. It would look great tossed over the guest bed.

This rug from UO is way out of my budget but what’s life without wishful thinking? Plus, the wood floors look so good all dressed up.

These little extras really keep the room office-y without sacrificing any comfort or style (and still keep in inviting).
