f8 Photo Studios Gets Featured in Charleston Weddings Magazine!

We are super excited to announce that Amanda and Ruben's fabulous wedding was featured in the most recent issue of Charleston Weddings Magazine. The wedding, which was held at the illustrious Boone Hall Plantation located right outside of Charleston, SC, took place last August. Stephanie Cisco, owner of Viva L'Event NC, was the event planner and designer, which we couldn't take gorgeous images without amazing things to photograph! We are truly thankful for her vendor partnership and referring us to these amazing clients.

As a native of Charleston, it has been a dream of mine to shoot in the city that I love so dearly. After 10 years in business and countless weddings, it is surprising that this wedding was the first. It just goes to show that things happen when they are supposed to and things fall into place. I look forward to shooting more in the area!

Sooooooo.......I was googling our business name, as I sometimes do, and I see that one of our weddings was published in the popular wedding blog, "The Wedding Row", a year ago this month. LOL! Better late than never to publicize this!!

f8 Photo Studios Best of The Knot Hall of Famer!!

I have to say that I am a terrible blogger. Great at customer service but I need to work on keeping up an active blog. I enjoy writing and I love my business so I need to bite the bullet and settle to make that New Year's Resolution a priority. I do have to say that being inducted into The Knot Hall of Fame is definitely blog-worthy! We were so excited to receive the news in January as we are among a small percentage of wedding vendors that received this award this year. What a wonderful treat to receive to mark my 10th year shooting weddings!!!

As usual, thanks so much for the support of my clients and vendors. I couldn't do what I enjoy so much without you!!

I promise to be a better blogger. :)

Julie + Dave Get Married- Doris Duke Center

Hi there All!!! It is embarrassing that it has been since May that we have blogged!! It just goes to show that we had a really amazing wedding season that is about to wind down. Winter allows us some time to update our websites, catch up on blogs and submit the past year's weddings to publications. Anyway, I wanted to feature some beautiful images from a darling family that we shot a few weeks ago. Julie and Dave were brought to us by our event planner and floral designer pal, Stephanie Cisko, owner of Viva L'Event NC, who booked us in the Spring for their Fall wedding. This happy couple got ready at the Durham Marriott where we also did their first look. I love, love, love shooting in this location as it has so much diversity and great lighting in one little block of Durham. It is also wonderful for engagement shoots as well, but that is another topic.

After the first look we headed over to Duke Gardens for the rest of their couple's session, bridal party pics and family pictures before their ceremony. Again another shooting location that I can't get enough of!!!

The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour under the tent with the reception inside. American Party Rentals provided the beautiful linens, place settings and chairs.

Mitch from Joe Bunn DJ Company was so fun to work with and did a great job keeping the couple on the dance floor!!

I am so happy to Julie and Dave and was honored to be a part of their day!!!

Raleigh Wedding Photographer Gets Blogged

Hi All!! There is nothing that we love more than shooting fabulous couples, details and events and then getting them featured in publications and/or blogs. A lot of effort and teamwork goes into designing, executing and capturing incredible events. Our good friend and vendor partner, Stephanie Cisko of Viva L'Event NC, designed and planned this themed bridal shower for our bride Jamie who was married to her fun-loving husband on December 29, 2012.

Erin + Sean Downtown Raleigh Engagement

I have to say that this couple is HOT and I had so much fun photographing them last week. It was a super cloudy and windy day, which we were afraid that we would have to reschedule because of the weather. Turns out that it was just a perfect session and we were done right before the bottom dropped out. I love their edgy flare and the colors of their attire plus the backdrop just really fit well together just as much as Erin and Sean do! Typically I like to capture vibrant colors with beautiful lighting, but you will notice that some of the images from the session I used an effect on the photos that just fit the scene and their style.

We can't wait to be a part of their big day on 6.1.13!!!
