Cabbage Patch Brings Affordable Seasonal Eats Downtown

Phone: 213-489-4489
Status: Opened Monday
Earlier this week Samir Mohajer (Rustic Canyon) opened the doors to his third branch of Cabbage Patch, the informal farm to table cafe he initially launched in Beverly Hills early 2009. Cabbage Patch's philosophy focuses around the use of organic and, when possible, local products, hormone and antibiotic-free meat is sourced from Niman Ranch, Jidori chicken comes from cage-free birds, and sustainably raised salmon graces the menu as well.

The restaurant's design is simple enough, about 10 or so two-tops up front, followed by a series of larger booths, and that light at the end of the tunnel is where one will find the kitchen. White walls, deep brown wooden tables and chairs sum up the simple, modern space, plus the addition of reclaimed wooden panels along one wall stands in for art.

While Cabbage Patch's seasonal, organic menu mantra remains consistent at all locations, the downtown eatery offers a beefed up menu. Now, one can score a 1/4 or 1/2 rotisserie chicken, plus a variety of pizzette from tomato/basil to Greek to California. Overall there are, simply put, more menu options, tons of sides, full plates, sandwiches, salads and bowls. To start Cabbage Patch is just offering lunch service Monday to Friday, 11AM-6PM, Saturdays and dinner service commence next month. Also stay tuned for beer and wine.
