    Or cheaper, these on Amazon.

Quite a nest idea. I've got spare ramps. I wonder how cheaply I could buy a couple of bottle jacks, and alter my spare ramps. 😄.

Bill, not what you would call close to a London borough although not far away and town has a population of 110,000 according to the last census. I'm in Chelmsford.

Perhaps a tad expensive, but quite versatile I think. Quite easy to have a wheel off.

OK, seems I'm incorrect in assuming newer cars have higher insurance premiums.

But I always understood the "group" relating to power or prestige of a car affects insurance. But a Fiesta should be in a low group so I don't understand why your quote is so high Trev. Are you close to a London borough and/or in a high population density area?

They look good and I have considered similar before, but felt the use they would get didnt justify the outlay as most of the time when its up in the air the wheels need to come off.

Guy, you are right about the value of your own car not affecting the price. Several years ago I had my dads car when he died and as it got older I didn't think it worth keeping full comp so asked for a quote for Third Party Fire and Theft with the same company. The difference was 50p and I was told it was because of the value of what you hit rather than what your car was worth.

I am new to this forum.

We are working on an MG-TA with proper model engine and transmission and the cork clutch.

We have removed the clutch and are trying to remove the flywheel as a step to disassembling the engine to determine the extent of the damage to the babit bearings. We have one big end of con rod failed.

I have been asking for tips to remove flywheel from ...

    17/16" diameter !
You have confirmed my original information however no further details advised.
I have already procured those available studs I believe to be most suitable for use on a Spridget having an overall length of 49.2mm (1 15/16") that do not appear to tally with either of the stated lengths although are probably those classified as 1 13/16".

They look good. Hmmmm. Might investigate a set of those myself. 😁
