Fletcher Reed

Fletcher Reed

Raised on the banks of the Penobscot river, Fletch spent his summers exploring Maine from the coast to the inland mountains of Baxter State Park. That love for nature inspired him to pursue an education with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). A three month school trip to southern Chile was a perfect training ground for studies in wilderness medicine, navigation and sea kayaking. A second course focused on the “soft skills” of outdoor education where weeks were spent learning about leadership, risk management and decision making skills. Fletch became a registered Maine guide in 2008 and has been leading trips in and around Acadia National Park every summer since.

Brian Armstrong

Brian Armstrong

In his 8th year as a licensed Maine Sea Kayak Guide, Brian Armstrong enjoys leading tours and this attribute complements his passion for the ocean and it’s surroundings. Brian has spent time as a volunteer interpretive ranger for the U.S. Forest Service, worked in a Maine cedar mill and harvested local mussels in the winter. Some of his hobbies include fishing, snow sports, rafting and tasting quality food. In 2011 Brian obtained his Emergency Medical Technician certification from the University of Utah. He is an active outdoor enthusiast and loves chasing an adventure. In his travels, Brian has paddled salt and fresh waters in many locations including his native state of Nevada, and other states such as Oregon, California, Massachusetts, Colorado and of course Maine. He hopes to paddle the entire Maine Island Trail from south to north soon and delights in making standout memories with all those who participate in his adventures.
