Took my car in to get fixed today. Two strange and annoying things have been happening. The passenger door refuses to lock or open with the key fob or door touch. That's been happening for over two months, but yesterday (wouldn't you know) after making an appointment, it started working again - but intermittently. The other thing is that everything on the dashboard goes completely black - intermittently, of course. I wonder what they will find and if the weird happenings will get fixed? Wish me luck!

Have you got a Tesla, per chance, Shiela? They occasionally do that especially after they get a software download. And the cure is to 'reboot' the car, just like you would with your desktop computer. Literally. 🤷‍♂️

I'm wondering if your mom ever explained how the stork got/found/was gifted the babies, Tom?

...and is there a dedicated button in a Tesla to do the re-booting, Tom?

We just left a car for service - with a replacement radio needed - it is constantly 'rebooting' all the various choices while the screen is deteriorating before our eyes!

Mornin' all. Keep smilin'.

Shiela, intermittent faults are the worst. Gotta get the 'fault' to show up before you can do anything.

No, Joyce, she never did. And Dad really didn’t want to get into the issue, either. I just assumed there must have been a factory somewhere.

Regarding the Tesla reboot, I’m told you jam your foot on the brake and hold the steering wheel buttons down with a terrified iron grip for two or three minutes until your screen and dash shut down and then come back on again - actions that I imagine would be quite easy to do, if your dashboard and screen ever were to suddenly black out at 60 mph… 😊

Yesterday, when backing the car out of the garage, my better half hit the garage door! Apparently she threw the remote control back in the console which caused the door to lower. Thankfully not too much damage to the tailgate and importantly she was able to make her hairdressing appointment on time.
Oh, and it was my fault!!

Thanks for the answers, Tom! & Arachnid: it is most certainly your fault! Accept it & move on! 3 more episodes of Mr. Bates vs. the Post Office - thanks for suggesting, Arachnid!
