Christy Sherman is an unrepentant polymer clay addict and artist. She was looking for a creative outlet soon after college, and picked up a Sculpey III sample pack. Twelve years later and she hasn't stopped squishing polymer clay between her fingers. Christy now uses Premo as her clay of choice but the fascination is still the same. "An unformed block of clay is so full of possibilities. Sometimes I have a clear plan in mind of what I want to make. Other times, I just play and let the clay decide."

Christy doesn't limit herself to any particular techniques or subjects. "I have so many ideas flying around in my head. There is so much I want to do and try. I keep a notebook just to jot down thoughts and inspiration so they don't get lost". She enjoys sculpting on a small scale, usually living creatures - whether natural or fantastic - and has been incorporating these sculptures into beads, pendants, kaleidoscope bodies, and wall reliefs. She loves ancient looking surfaces, faux techniques, texture, and the wonderful iridescence of mica powders.

Christy is a member of the Southern Connecticut Polymer Clay Guild (SCPCG) and recently joined the National Polymer Clay Guild as well. In the past she has acted as the SCPCG webmaster, Secretary, and a moderator on the Yahoo group Kaleidoscope Builders Knowledge Base. She occasionally teaches polymer clay classes and enjoys answering questions both in person and through this website about polymer clay.

She lives in Rhode Island with her wonderful husband Dave and their two cats, Smidgen and Chaos. She has not yet managed to convert Dave to the dark side of polymer clay addiction, but he supports her habit anyway - modifying tools, setting up the workspace, and giving his opinions patiently when asked for the tenth time, "What do you think of it now?"
