1990 Porsche Carrera 4 AWD RSR Conversion

This RSR was built on a 1990 factory white 964 Carrera 4 and is the only all-wheel-drive early style 911 we have ever seen. It was just recently completed and is available here from the private seller for $40k.

Tough to tell that this is a modern car from this angle. The side mirrors are modern but tasteful, and the replica Fuchs are 17″ units custom made by Mike Lindsey. We love the blue and white scheme.

The larger wheels give some extra ride height which is balanced in the front by a chin extension on the RS front bumper. The fender flare work was laborious and is well documented here on the Pelican Forum. Thirs brake light at the top of the rear window is another hint that this car was built after 1985.

The interior in this car is the only downfall. It it was black we could probably live with the modern trim, but the brown is pretty tough to swallow. Black carpets, RS door panels, and a factory black dash are requirements here, and would likely set you back another $8500. The airbag, modern acoustics, and sunroof are nice features though.

This is definitely an interesting build and would e a blast in wet weather, but it will never appreciate like a true early 911. The 3.6L modern Porsche engine is another benefit for those of you who dread carburetors. We’d likely go for an early car, but you can’t argue with the exterior aesthetic and drivetrain of this example.
