Equipment

Alzar Industries owns a wide variety of equipment with different specialization's.   Every job is run on equipment that is best suited for each application.   Machinery is selected based upon the number of machining operations, type of material, part   geometry, level of precision required, and maximum process efficiency.

The majority of Alzar's major equipment is less than 4 years old.   As equipment becomes older or obsolete, it is either replaced or retrofitted.   Every piece of equipment receives regular maintenance to ensure that it   continues to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Machining

3 Axis CNC Milling Machines (Knee Style)
These machines are very quick to setup and are used for light milling, drilling, secondary machining operations, as well as, production runs of parts that require only one or two tools.   They are equipped with power draw bars for quick manual tool changes.

CNC Turning Centers
The Hardinge ST225-B Super-Precision Swiss-Turn CNC lathe Highlights Alzar Industries' commitment to using state-of-the-art equipment to service our customers needs.

All CNC lathes have an automatic hydraulic bar feeder and either a  tool turret changer or gang tooling. All CNC lathes have an 8" swing and  12" of x axis travel. The maximum bar capacity is 1.625".  Three of the lathes  have a live tooling feature that enables the lathe to machine features  on parts (e.g., Bolt circles) that would normally have to be performed  as a second operation on a CNC milling machine.  These machines are  used for light to heavy machining and small to large scale production runs.

Manual Milling Machines
All manual milling machines have power feed and dual vertical and horizontal spindles.  The Sajo milling machines also have digital X/Y readouts. The largest travel is 36" X, 14" Y, and 18" Z.  They are used for material preparation, light milling, drilling, secondary operations, and prototype work.

Drill Presses And Tapping Machines
Alzar has over 25 industrial drill presses.  Several of them are equipped with thread tapping heads.  They are used for secondary operations such as reaming, enlarging holes, deburring, making countersinks for screws, as well as, for cutting and forming threads.

Saws
Alzar owns several types of saws for various applications.  They are used for both rough cutting material and for precision sawing extruded parts to finished size. Our MEP Cobra 350 Cut Off Saw features automatic feed, Digital part counter, and an accuracy of 0.002".

Fabricating

Presses
Alzar owns several types of presses for fabricating sheet metal parts. These are used for bending, punching, notching, and stamping precision sheet metal parts.  Alzar’s maximum sheet metal part thickness is 0.250".  Parts in excess of this thickness are machined rather than fabricated.

Shear
This machine is used for precision cutting and rough cutting sheet metal up to 48" wide and 5 mm thick.  Parts in excess of this thickness are first sawed oversize and machined to size on a milling machine.

Surface Grinding
The surface grinder is used to produce very flat ground surfaces on steel.   It is used to make precision jigs, tooling, parallels, as well as, to sharpen shear blades and press dies.

 Grinders and Tool Sharpeners
Alzar has a wide variety of grinders, tool sharpeners, and diamond polishers for making custom cutting tools and for keeping all of Alzar's cutting tools (drills, milling cutters, reamers, turning tools, etc.) in top notch condition.

Metal Finishing

The appearance of our parts is very important to us. Many of the parts we produce are visible to the end customer and we always try to make sure they look and feel the best they can. Alzar owns a variety of tools and equipment to aid in achieving high quality burr free surfaces.

Belt and disk sanders are used for applying brushed finishes to aluminum and steel surfaces. Sanding of flat parts is achieved using an automatic feed belt sander called a Timesaver. Brushed finishes are ideal for front panels and enclosures.

Vibratory finishing machines and rotary tumblers are used to delicately remove burrs from small aluminum and steel parts. Another advantage of these machines is they give the parts a more polished appearance.
