Our Story
In 1977, American Athletics was started with 600 sq. feet of retail space in Charlotte North Carolina. Our roots were in the running industry with: Nike, New Balance, Reebok, and 22 other major footwear brands.
We started our web site, in 1995, with the help of two college students, Rafael at NC State and Chris who visited Yale and Harvard. AmericanAthletics.com grew from selling a few shoes a week to a few hundred a day, by 1999. Our current focus is on Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars and the "Originals" collection of canvas and leather footwear.
Our goal is to have, at your fingertips, the largest color selection of Converse All Stars on the planet. Throughout the years, Converse has invented and reinvented "cool", in the All Star Collection. Try them for the first time again!

When are we open? 10am to 6pm EST Monday - Friday. Our website is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
