Welcome to the Amiga Magazine Rack!
Amiga Power 19 The Amiga Magazine Rack was launched in early 2007 after more than 2 years of development. The website you see today grew from 3 independent coverdisk and review indexes independently compiled by members of the Hall of Light team.

The site has close ties with the Hall of Light games database, with extensive cross-linking between the two sites. As a result, the current focus of the Amiga Magazine Rack is games, although application/hardware reviews and serious articles will be indexed in the fullness of time.

The Amiga Magazine Rack is backed by a large review database which is linked to tens of thousands of scanned pages.

The team wishes to thank RCK for making all of this possible - without his offer to host the site the project would not have come into existence.

If you wish to contribute to the project read the information below or contact one of the team members.

03 March 2024 - Amiga Addict added

Amiga Addict has been added to the rack, and over the next little while, all content will be indexed. If you'd like to support the magazine, you can find more information at www.addict.media, or visit the shop to buy all issues from shop.amiga-addict.com.
24 September 2023 - Zzap Amiga added

Zzap Amiga has been added to the rack, containing a full index of all games and books reviewed in this bi-monthly publication from Fusion Retro Books!
18 February 2017 - Amiga Power issue 54 added

Scans for Amiga Power issue 54 are now online.

This issue was also released during Amiga Power's twilight years when the number of new commercial game releases had dwindled significantly and were generally of low quality. Odyssey received the top score of 79%, but that wasn't particularly difficult seeing as no other games received a score above 50%!
13 February 2017

Scans for Amiga Power issue 61 are now online.

This issue was released during Amiga Power's twilight years when the number of new commercial game releases had dwindled significantly and were generally of low quality. Legends received a score of 80% but on the other hand the FMV game The Final Gate scored only 20% and platformer Charlie J. Cool scored 15%.

Unfortunately the issue features a high proportion of non-Amiga filler content, including a 12 page article about the paranormal! However, the final four issues following this one were an improvement and the last All-Time Top 100 Games was still to come.
09 February 2017 - Amiga Power issue 62 added

Full scans from Amiga Power issue 62 have been added, along with a complete index of all the reviews, previews and cheats.
06 July 2016 - Commodore Power scans added!

The C64 magazine Commodore Power only lasted 3 issues, from January 1992 through to March 1992 before it shut down. I have only indexed the contents from the first issue (any volunteers to index the remaining 2 issues?) but scans of every page have now been added to the Amiga Magazine Rack!
26 June 2015 - Zero issue 36

The final issue of Zero came out in October of 1992, and the full scans of every page are now available!
25 June 2015 - All editorial content from Zero issue 2 (December 1989) is now online!

Zero was never one of my favourite magazines, with a bizarre excuse for "humour" and even the most dire game seemed to score 70% or more. Zero issue 2 contained quite a nice preview of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts including an interview with David J. Broadhurst.

All editorial content is now online so enjoy!

Did You Know?
Xenon 3 gets negative one star out of five

Amiga Power, in their infinite wisdom, decided to award a negative score to a PD game, Xenon 3, in AP33. The game was rated as minus 1 out of a possible 5! Apart from the fact that this score is completely meaningless, it also showed that by this stage they were not taking anything too seriously, which degraded the overall quality of what had been an excellent magazine.
